The herb is bitter in flavour, cold in nature, being toxic, and acts on the spleen, stomach and liver channels. It is mainly used to expel roundworms and also has effects of expelling and killing hookworms and pinworms. Chinaberry bark is stronger than quisqualis fruit in parasite-killing effect.
