-Description-
Phenoxyethanol is a clear, colourless liquid with a faint rose odour, which occurs naturally but is more usually synthetic. It is one of the most common preservatives used in beauty & personal care products. It is safe, effective and used across a wide range of products.Phenoxyethanol can be used in beauty & personal care product including moisturisers, cleansers, soaps, cleansing wipes and baby skin creams. it can also be used in some laundry liquid detergents.
Function:
1.EPH can be served as the solvent for acrylic resin, nitrocellulose, cellulose acetate, ethyl cellulose, epoxy resin, phenoxy resin.
EPH is generally used as the solvent, and improving agent for paints, printing ink, and ballpoint ink, as well as theinfiltrating and bactericide in the detergents, and film-forming aids for water-based coatings
2.As a dyeing solvent,EPH can improve the solubility of the PVC plasticizer, the properties that enable the cleaning of printed circuit board and surface treatment of plastic, and become an ideal solvent for methyl hydroxybenzoate.
3.EPH is an ideal preservative in cosmetic industry. It is used as an anesthetic and fixative for perfume.
4.EPH is as an extractor in petroleum industry. It can be used in UV curing agent and carrier liquid of liquid chromatography.
Application:
1.Phenoxyethanol is one of the most widely used preservatives in personal care products including detergents, cosmetics, toiletries and pharmaceutical.
2.Phenoxyethanol provides a broad spectrum anti-microbial activity against either gram-negative or gram-positive bacteria, yeasts or moulds.
3.Phenoxyethanol is soluble in many non-polar ingredients and contributes solvency activity.
4.Phenoxyethanol activity is effective in protein-based products also. In most countries, it is permitted to a maximum of 1% concentration.
